The eligibility window for booking appointments for the COVID-19 vaccine is again expanding in Saskatchewan, as the rollout of the system put in place by the Saskatchewan Health Authority continues to go along smoothly.

Sunday, the eligibility was opened to those 72 and older and starting at 8:00 a.m. Monday, the eligibility will again expand to include those who are 70 and older. The appointments can be booked online, or by phone. To book online, you can visit the Saskatchewan Government’s COVID-19 vaccine website. Those who want to book by phone can call 1-833-SASKVAX (1-833-727-5829). The call centre for booking by phone is open from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

The roll-out of the AstraZeneca vaccine, which is only approved for those between the ages of 18 and 64, is starting Monday in Regina with a drive-thru vaccination clinic at the exhibition grounds in that city. The clinic is set to open at 8:30 a.m. and is only for those who are 64 years of age at the time of the clinic.

Since the launch of the SHA’s vaccine booking system last Thursday, there have been 38,578 appointments booked, with 31,054 of those done online. The remaining 7,524 have been booked via the phone system.
