The traffic lights on the corner of 2nd Street and Souris Avenue have been out of commission for a few months, and the intersection has been operating as a four-way stop.

“Everything is now installed and wired,” said Director of Engineering with the City, Jennifer Wilkinson. “As well as a lot of the pre-programming has been done. The biggest thing we're actually waiting on is just a small concrete pad to be poured to put down the controller.”

Wilkinson said the reason for the delay has been the weather.

“With the intermittent weather and the rain and storms and stuff, we haven't been able to get that pad poured to put the controller down. So that’s what we're waiting for, just a little more concrete work to be done over there, and then once they have that pad poured, they can put the controller down. It should be just a day to get it up and running because pretty much everything is ready to go.”

She added they are hoping the concrete pad can be poured within the next two weeks.
