It was a night filled with stories, laughs and memories.

Darcy Tucker, former right wing grinder with the Toronto Maple Leafs, and Kelly Gruber, 1992 World Series champion with the Toronto Blue Jays, headlined the annual Weyburn Red Wings Sports Dinner on Saturday evening at the Cugnet Centre.

Tucker said being in Weyburn was like "coming home." The Castor, Alta., native who now lives in Toronto said he enjoys coming back to Western Canada, which is where he spent most of his junior hockey career.

For Gruber, Weyburn and Canada remind him of his home state of Texas; everyone is welcoming, friendly and always looking for a great time.

On Saturday, a great time was had by all, as the two headliners shared stories from their professional careers during a round table discussion with host Darrell Romuld of CTV Regina - with a few questions from the crowd.

A live and silent auction was also held to help raise money for the Weyburn Red Wings.

Tucker now spends his time with Scotiabank and its involvement in the Rogers Hometown Hockey Tour. He also coaches his son's hockey team.

Gruber continues to travel as an alumni of the Blue Jays and says he is "re-tired."
