It started out as a small idea. Now, it's a community event that could have a MASSIVE impact!

"Our congregation has been thinking about how we could serve our neighbourhood," said Shelley Glaab from the Free Methodist Church. "Our neighbourhood being Weyburn. I came up with an idea that maybe we could have a garage sale in the parking lot and because I am a former teacher and I know many of our congregation have volunteered to help with the breakfast program at Souris School, I thought that we could give the money to the new Legacy Park School."

The congregation took that idea and ran with it!

"From my original little idea, different members of the congregation have had lots of ideas," said Glaab. "So we're not only having a garage sale now, we're having a bake sale and some local businesses have jumped on our bandwagon too."

Those businesses will be providing ice cream and supplies to host a BBQ, to ensure that all money raised will go to the nutrition program at Legacy Park Elementary.

The big community market will run tomorrow, September 9th, from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Weyburn Free Methodist Church.
