Get ready for lots of fun and laughs while also supporting an important cause, at the 19th Annual Weyburn Travelodge and Brothers Classic Grill charity golf tournament on June 11th.

Over the previous 18 years, they have raised $338,447.43 to support health services in Weyburn and area, such as the current Weyburn General Hospital.

George Siourounis, General Manager and Owner of the Weyburn Travelodge Hotel with his brothers, John and Harry Siourounis, said that last year they decided to support mental health services, with half of the proceeds going to Envision Counselling and Support Centre Weyburn, and half going to Inclusion Weyburn.

Once again this year, they will be supporting Envision Counselling and Support Centre Weyburn and Inclusion Weyburn, with 50 percent of the proceeds going to Envision Weyburn and 50 percent going to Inclusion Weyburn

"With the caveat that all of the money will stay in Weyburn, it will not go anywhere else because it's raised locally and it will stay in town."

Last year, with the generosity of sponsors, Siourounis said they raised more than $21,000 towards mental health services in Weyburn.

There are two types of hole sponsorships available for the charity golf tournament this year.

"A straight sponsorship, that's $500, that's a gold sponsor, or if they go to platinum, that's $1000 and they can put a team in there," Siourounis said.

The platinum sponsorship includes 18 holes of golf, a power cart, and a Greek supper to follow with the Brothers. "Most people come for the supper, because they cannot get that kind of supper, they cannot order it off of the menu, that's what everybody says."

A live auction will also take place in tandem with the Greek supper.

"This year we have one big sponsor, they sponsored us every year for the last 18 years. It's Simmons Canada, they manufacture and sell beds. This year, the bed is a queen or king sized bed, the best bed on the line-up. It retails for over $5000, and it's one of the main prizes."

Siourounis said that he wanted to thank all of the committee members for their help, as well as the sponsors, as they are a huge part of their success.

Sysco Regina will be supplying the food for the Greek supper. There will also be door prizes and purses for first, second, and third place teams. The event generally sells out, and is first come, first serve.

The Weyburn Travelodge and Brothers Classic Grill charity golf tournament will be held at the Weyburn Golf Club at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 11th. The Greek supper and live auction will follow at 6:00 p.m. at the Weyburn Travelodge Hotel.
