Last night saw one of the biggest storms of the year (so far) roll through Weyburn and surrounding areas.

Lightning and thunder progressively got brighter and louder as the storm drew closer and eventually went almost non-stop, as you can see in the video below

There was some flash flooding throughout the City, as well as some damage from the lightning and wind (as you can see here).

And yet, through it all, there were a number of crews out and about doing their best to help residents.

City Crews stopped by my place (where they have been working on what I assume is the water mains in the area) to check on the hole they had dug up and to make sure the yard wasn't flooding. It was pouring rain, but they were there and then back this morning to pump it all out.

City of Weyburn crews were out this morning, pumping out areas of the City they had previously dug up.

As for that weird noise that could be heard throughout the City last night? No, that wasn't a warning to take cover. It was the new fire truck and the fire crew with it who were out in the storm putting out tree fires and helping to keep everyone safe.

The fire crews, the City crews, the Weyburn Police, SaskPower and so many more were out in the storm yesterday to help take care of the City and to them we say THANK YOU and GOOD JOB!
