The Golden West radio stations in Weyburn welcomed a number of esteemed guests to celebrate the launch of Country 106.7 this morning, including country singer / songwriter Karissa Hoffart.

She shared a performance for those in attendance. Watch a video below.

"Today marks a significant milestone for AM 1190, embarking on a journey toward a new, dynamic syndicated program. Simultaneously, 106 transforms to captivate a vibrant new audience of country music fans. I am sure these changes will resonate throughout the heart of Weyburn."

Roy said local radio is the "pulse of a community like Weyburn," noting that these changes will, "breathe new life into our local airwaves."

"The City is proud to be a partner of Golden West, helping the Weyburn team share local stories important to them and keeping our residents informed."

He applauded the efforts and the positive impact of the Golden West Weyburn team, adding, "you all have in amplifying local voices and highlighting community events that matter to our residents."
