Kearstin Pfeifer is a local Weyburn girl that recently returned home from Prairie College (in Three Hills, Alberta), where she pursued a music career with their Worship Arts program, majoring in Songwriting and Recording.

Pfeifer's music combines "rootsy" Americana with folk-pop through her incorporation of bluegrass style instruments to accompany her poetic, imagery-driven lyrics.

Some of her musical inspirations include The Lumineers, The Paper Kites, Luke Sital Singh and Marianas Trench.

This morning she stopped by the Golden West Radio station in Weyburn to talk about her first album, her EP release concert, and what she is planning for the future.

Take a look at the video from her interview with Discover Weyburn's Glenn Rogers below and make sure to check her out live on Friday at the Tommy Douglas Performing Arts Centre in Weyburn. Show starts at 7pm.
