Every year students at the Weyburn Comp come together to put on a spectacular musical and this year is no different.

According to Colleen Weimer, this year the students are going to be performing "Disney's High School Musical".

"We're pretty excited about it," said Weimer. "The kids are really into it and we've been doing lots of practices and shows are ready to start on May 25th."

The show, based on the 2006 movie of the same name, is put together by roughly 100 students, with roughly 60 students being on stage plus the live pit band and backstage production. It runs May 25th through 27th at 7:00 at the Cugnet Centre and has a matinee on May 28th, that show at 2:00.

"You can expect a lot of fun, it's got some great music," Weimer added. "This musical is set in a high school and it's about kids getting out of their cliques and everybody has their own thing but they're trying to get along all together."

The proceeds from this event, of course, go to paying for the music, with remaining profit going to the SRC to help with school activities.

Admission is $15 for adults and $8 for those 18 and under. Tickets can be purchased at the Comp main office.
