Over the past two days, we've been collecting donations at Great Plains Ford for the Weyburn Salvation Army Food Bank.

We put the call out and, Weyburn, you did not disappoint!

By the end of yesterday, we had filled the back of the Blow Away Hunger F-150 with a ton of non-perishable food items, and a teddy bear, for the Salvation Army. A number of people came in armed with cash, cheques, and gift cards as well. Unofficially, it looks like roughly $7,000 was brought in, thanks in part to a $5,000 from Kater Services!

As if that wasn't enough, Western Prime Meats also made a huge donation, pledging $6,000 worth of meat to the food bank!

Of course, everyone who made a donation was entered to win a brand-new snowblower from Canadian Tire. We'll be making the draw for that later this morning.

A big thank you to Great Plains Ford for hosting us over two days and to Weimer's Hometown, Maintrack Cafe, John Kmita Ltd., Protouch Signs, and Quality Plumbing and Heating, our hourly sponsors during the event. Of course, the biggest of thank you's to YOU for your donations! We couldn't have done it without you.
