Many people think that Santa Claus stays up at the North Pole throughout the year, only coming out at Christmas time. However, in Weyburn, there is an opportunity to see Santa long before the Christmas season starts.

That's because he will be bringing his sleigh down for the Annual Santa Claus Toy Run hosted by the Weyburn Independent Riders.

Each year motorcycle riders from around Weyburn gather together to collect as many toys as they can for the Weyburn Salvation Army. Ahead of the toy run, on September 8th and 9th, Santa will park his sleigh at Wal-Mart so you can help out too. Everyone is encouraged to bring a new toy down to his sleigh and donate it to the Salvation Army for them to use during the holidays.

Then, on September 10th, the riders themselves will put some new toys into the sleigh and drive through the city. The Toy Run, featuring dozens of motorcycles and, of course, Santa, will take off from Legacy Park Elementary School at roughly 1:00 p.m. and make its way through the city before ending up at River Park.

Last year the toy run brought in over 200 toys and roughly $500. Take some time on September 8th and 9th to help out and then enjoy the show!
