The Weyburn Police Service announced a new constable will be joining the ranks. Nicole Robinson officially took the oath to be a constable with the WPS on Monday.

Robinson, who is originally from Canora, Saskatchewan, is looking forward to the move to Weyburn with her fiancee and two young children, according to a release issued by the WPS. She also comes into the role with some previous law enforcement experience, having worked as a correctional officer.

“We are extremely proud to introduce Nicole as our newest member to our WPS family. Nicole impressed the hiring committee from start to finish in her maturity and family values,” said Chief of Police Jamie Blunden in the release. “We look forward to her success in college and wish her well in the upcoming recruit class. Please join me and our members in extending a huge Weyburn welcome to Nicole!”

Robinson will start her training at the Saskatchewan Police College in Regina on January 8th.
