The Weyburn Police Service responded to 86 calls for service last week, resulting in 14 charges.  

Six of the charges were laid under the Criminal Code of Canada, seven under the Traffic Safety Act, and one under the Alcohol & Gaming Regulation Act. 

On Wednesday morning, officers attended a medical facility to assist with a physically aggressive patient. The patient caused damage to the room and assaulted an attending officer, but eventually calmed down.  

Later that evening, officers attended to a domestic disturbance involving physical violence. An intoxicated man was arrested and taken into custody.  The man, who is charged with 2 counts of assault, was released with conditions and has an upcoming court date. 

Separate reports of individuals threatening harm to other people were received during the week.  These matters are currently under investigation. Officers also responded to several other calls during the week including alarms, noise complaints, domestic disturbances, mental health concerns, and wellness checks.  

The Weyburn Police Service is also investigating a stolen utility trailer. It is described as a black 1998 EasyLoader that is 8’ long by 5’ wide and has a ramp-style end gate.  Anyone with information regarding this matter is asked to contact the Weyburn Police Service at 306-848-3250.
