The Weyburn Police Service responded to 107 calls for service last week, resulting in 28 charges.  

Two people were arrested last Tuesday after entering several vehicles and stealing contents from inside. The two individuals were both charged with one count of theft from a motor vehicle, two counts of possession of stolen property, and two counts of failing to comply with a release order. They were remanded in custody.     

Police responded to a motor vehicle collision on Wednesday, May 18 in the central area of Weyburn. One driver was charged under the Traffic Safety Act for failing to yield. There were no injuries. 

A member of the WPS conducted a traffic stop for a traffic violation, and it was found that the driver of the vehicle was on release conditions that did not allow him to have contact with the passenger of the vehicle.  The driver was subsequently arrested and released for a future court date.     

Police received a report of a break and enter into a garage on May 20. Several items were stolen, and the matter is under investigation.  

On Saturday, May 21, police observed two individuals who were known to be on release conditions to not have contact with each other walking down the street.  Both individuals were arrested for failing to comply with release conditions and for thefts from previous matters.  They were released with future court dates.     

Later that night, police received a call that an individual was assaulted and threatened. Through investigation, it was determined the two suspects assaulted the victim and a weapon was involved. The matter is still under investigation and charges are pending.
