Both of Weyburn’s Bantam B teams were in action on Saturday, as they both headed out onto the road. The Co-Op Wings were in Caronport where they faced the Cougars, while the Young Fellow Wings were in Moose Jaw taking on the Oilers.

The Co-op Wings were up against a strong Caronport team, who skated to a 5-2 win.

The Cougars were the first on the board, with Alexa Aikens scoring just 45 seconds into the game. The goal was unassisted.

The Wings responded early in the second period, as Brandon Morrice found the back of the net. The goal came at the 2:46 mark, and was assisted by Karter Johnston and Brandon Klein.

The Cougars regained the lead on a goal from Noah Osiowy. It would be the first of three on the night for the forward.

Osiowy would make it a 3-1 lead early in the third with his second of the game before the Wings closed the gap back to one.

Ryder Renner found the back of the net just before the halfway mark of the third period. He was assisted by Dalton Molnar and Johnston.

It would be all the goals the Co-op Wings would find in the game, as the Cougars added two more in the second half of the period. Osiowy scored his hat trick goal with 8:22 on the clock and Landon McLellan put the game out of reach with 2:36 remaining.

The Young Fellow Wings would come out firing against the Oilers. They built up a 2-0 lead and never looked back as they won 6-2.

The scoring started just past the five-minute mark of the opening frame as Lucas Hughes put the puck into the net. He was assisted on the goal by Archie Meier. Aiden Fields would then extend the lead with 3:33 left in the opening period.

The Oilers responded in the second period as Jake Williams scored. The Wings were determined to open the lead up again, though.

Parker Sexsmith scored just before the 10-minute mark, assisted by Deshawn Perra. Then Meier scored a goal of his own with Hughes getting the assist.

Sexsmith scored his second of the game at the 1:42 mark of the third period, with Taylor Singleton getting the assist. The Wings would round out their offence with 13:12 left on the clock when Memphis Walter scored an unassisted goal.

The Oilers would score once more before the game ended when Zsombor Deak tallied with 3:38 remaining.

The Co-op Wings will be back in action on Friday when they host the Cougars at the Tom Zandee Sports Arena in a rematch from this past weekend. The Young Fellow Wings are now off from league action until January 5th, when they play host to the Oilers.
