The Borderline Fastball League opened the 2017 season Wednesday night, and all three Weyburn teams were in action.

The defending champion Weyburn Shehawks traveled out to Pangman to face the Peaches. The Peaches are playing in their first year in the league. The Shehawks came away with the victory, though, spoiling Pangman’s home-opener, with a 12-3 win. Carly Pateman had a two-run home run in the victory.

The two other teams from Weyburn, the White Lightning, and the Queen Bees played each other at Tom Laing Park. The Queen Bees, also making their debut in the league, ended up on the losing end of a lopsided score.
