Justin Smoak hit his 14th home run of the season to tie the game at two in the sixth inning, and Josh Donaldson celebrated his bobblehead day with a solo blast, as the Toronto Blue Jays beat the New York Yankees 3-2 Sunday. The win in the final game of a four-game set between the two split the series.

Marcus Stroman had a strong outing for the Jays, as he was looking to continue his five-game winning streak. He retired the first seven batters he faced, then went on to give up two runs on five hits over six innings. He struck out four and walked one.

Luis Severino had a strong outing for the Yankees on the mound. He lasted seven innings, giving up the two runs on the Smoak home run while striking out seven and walking one.

The Jays continue to rebound after an April that saw them go 8-17. They finished May with a record of 18-10, and are 2-2 so far in June.

The Jays will look to continue their strong play Monday. They head off to the west coast for a three-game series against the Oakland Athletics. You can catch all the action on Saskatchewan’s Home of Blue Jays Baseball, AM1190, starting with the pregame show at 8:00 p.m.
