The Weyburn Midget AA Beavers improved to 14-2-1 on the season, after routing the Regina Buffaloes 15-4 Thursday night at Tom Laing Park. With rain falling for most of the game, the Beavers let their bats open up to earn the victory.

The biggest part of the offence came in the second inning when the Beavers opened up with six runs. Joel Niemegeers had a three-run double, while Trey Sandiford and Nathan Parisien added RBI’s in the inning.

Weyburn also dominated the basepaths, with 11 stolen bases in the game, which was called due to mercy rule after five innings. Matt Daunheimer led the way for the Beavers with three stolen bags.

Ethan Orsted went the distance on the mound, pitching all five innings. He struck out four, allowing four runs on three hits.

The next game for the Beavers is Wednesday. They travel to Moose Jaw to face the Canucks.
