The Midget AA John Hulbert Construction Wings take to the ice at Crescent Point Place tonight, as they host the Lumsden/Bethune Lions. The Wings are coming into the game with a 12-3 victory in their last league game, played last Saturday. The Lions topped the Regina Capitals 5-3 in their last game.

The Wings have had a strong start to the season. They are currently 6-3-1 on the season, and while they may be nine points back of the Notre Dame Argos for first in the league, they have also played six fewer games. Weyburn has one of the most potent offenses in the leade, averaging 5.4 goals for per game, and only 2.6 against. Their goal differential of +28 is the highest in the league, and they have played the fewest number of games so far this season, with the exception of Lumsden.

One of the reasons for the strong offensive numbers is how well everything is spread out. All but one played on the rosters have points this year, and only three players have yet to register a goal.

Up front, the Wings are lead offensively by Braden Birnie, who has 19 points in 10 games, and by Kyler Douglas, who has 17 points, including 10 goals. Brogan Schmeltzer and Axel Lund help opponents pay when they take penalties, as the two have combined for seven power-play goals on the season so far.

In net, Jaxon Robertson and Matthew Dutchak lead the way. Their numbers are strong, with Robertson posting one shutout on the season, and the two only allowing 26 goals against in 10 games. The game tonight starts at 8:15 p.m.
