It was a rough weekend for the Pee Wee AA Young Fellow Wings, as they came away from a triple-header in Yorkton with three losses. Weyburn remains in second place in the league standings after the weekend, seven points back of Yorkton for first place.

The first game Saturday was a back and forth affair, with the Wings jumping out to an early lead. Blaze Gutzke gave Weyburn the edge in the first with a power-play goal, before Yorkton would tie it up early in the second with a power-play marker of their own. The Terriers then took the lead shortly afterwards, before Quinn Mantei evened it back up just before the halfway mark of the second. Weyburn then took the lead when Van Eger scored a power-play goal with 3:58 left on the clock.

The Terriers rallied with three goals in two minutes to move up 5-3 over Weyburn as the teams broke for the second intermission.

In the third period, Yorkton made it a 6-3 game, when Weyburn rallied to come back. Cade Cole scored twice in just over a minute, as the Wings tried to tie the game up. They would end up just short, though, falling 6-5.

In the second game Saturday, It was all Yorkton. They scored one in the first, and two more goals in the second to pick up a 3-0 victory.

The tripleheader wrapped up with a game Sunday. This game would be decidedly in favour of the Terriers, as they skated to a 7-2 victory. Wyatt Lacoste scored in the second period for Weyburn, and Owen Istace also tallied in the middle frame, but they couldn’t rally back to beat the Terriers.

The next league game for the Pee Wee AA Wings is February 3rd when they host the Swift Current Pee Wee Broncos.
