“For just a small town prairie boy like me, that was pretty inspiring and amazing to just see and be part of and enjoy the music and the energy and do the race.”

Glenn Rogers ran the New York City Marathon Sunday, completing the course in the historic foot race in 3:44. The 42.2 kilometre race saw him, along with nearly 70,000 other participants, go through all five boroughs of New York City.

“I mean the time itself, maybe wasn’t a very fast time, but when you’re running with just under 70,000 other runners, it's hard to do any better, but really it was about the experience,” he said by phone while recovering from the race in New York.

Rogers has run in a number of marathons in the past, including the Boston Marathon in 2016.
