It was a solid weekend for the 19 track and field athletes from Weyburn Comprehensive School who were in Moose Jaw for the Provincial Championship Meet.

Just one Eagle found the top of the podium and that was Alex Lund in the Junior Boys Shot put. His toss of 12m was good enough for first place in the province. Lund was also competing in Discus, where he wound up finishing in 9th.

Jacob Butz was also competing in the Junior Boys category and he took home a silver medal in High Jump with a jump of 1.79m. Butz also finished 5th overall in Long Jump.

The final WCS medal went to Brett Bowler. He was competing in three events, finishing second in Triple Jump. His jump of 12.84m was a silver medal-worthy performance. Bowler was 14th in the 100m sprint and 10th in Long Jump.

Other notable performances included a 4th place finish for Jamie Labbie in the Midget Girls Long Jump with a jump of 4.62m. Evan Barsness was 9th in Midget Boys Discus and Denae King was 10th in the Midget Girls Quadathalon.
