This week saw the UCP elected into office in Alberta. The change in government to the west of Saskatchewan, Weyburn-Big Muddy MLA Dustin Duncan said there is now another ally in Saskatchewan's fight against the federal carbon tax.

While sitting in the opposition, Duncan said the Premier-Designate for Alberta, Jason Kenney, was already throwing his support behind Saskatchewan in their court challenge of the carbon tax.

“We are now at five provincial government’s that are all with us on this,” Duncan stated. “[It] represents more than half of the Canadian population.”

“I think this just pushes it further with now half of the provincial governments are against the federal position on things like the carbon tax”

The incoming Alberta government is also committing to pressure the federal government to move on the construction of the TransMountain Pipeline, while also applying pressure to B.C. to stop their opposition of the pipelines.
