Phase 2 of the Re-Open Saskatchewan Plan kicked off on May 19th, just under two weeks ago. This phase saw the opening of various businesses, including salons which was a godsend for many who have spent the past weeks with 'quarantine-do'. One such business was Tessa's Beauty and Wellness, a local full-service salon.

"As soon as phase 2 was announced by the government regarding hair appointments we were swamped with calls, emails, texts, and messages," said Tessa Dupuis, owner of Tessa's Beauty and Wellness.

Dupuis added that the time they had to be closed due to the pandemic proved to be tough on them, however, this reopening couldn't have come any sooner.

"I'm looking forward to seeing all of our clients again," Dupuis added. "Getting back into the shop and getting back to work. It'll be nice seeing faces outside the house."

There will be precautions put in place in order to comply with health standards and group size laws. This includes additional PPE, sneeze guards, and constant sanitization of surfaces between clients. As well, they will be limiting the number of clients they take into the salon per day in order to safely keep up with these measures. Though according to Tessa Dupuis, it's not much different than how they usually do things, as in the beauty industry sanitization and cleanliness is paramount.
