Today is the day that it is OK to eat dessert first. Miracle Treat Day has arrived in Weyburn. Dairy Queen owner says that Weyburn is always supportive, "We usually see that people are excited about Miracle Treat Day and that they make the effort to come in and Weyburn is incredibly supportive every year and we really appreciate that."

On this special day, Dairy Queens across the province will donate one hundred percent of net proceeds from each Blizzard Treat sold to Jim Pattison Children's Hospital Foundation- the only Saskatchewan member of Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. This important day means so much to us at Dairy Queen, but also for kids in the hospital,” said Saskatchewan franchisee Sandra Hertez. “Simply by enjoying your favourite Blizzard Treat, you’re going to make a big difference for kids who need better health care available in Saskatchewan. We are happy to contribute to this cause that means so much to families with a sick child.”

“We invite the entire province of Saskatchewan to help miracles happen on August 8 by purchasing a Blizzard Treat and help our kids who need it,” said Sash Broda, Manager, Development & Engagement at Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation. “Saskatchewan’s first-ever dedicated maternal and children’s hospital will open its doors this fall and it’s the perfect time to get involved with this important cause. With the support from our amazing partners like Dairy Queen and their customers, our kids can have access to the best care right here at home.”

Ever since the partnership between Dairy Queen and Children’s Miracle Network began in 1984, Dairy Queen has become a top corporate contributor with $135 million raised to-date in support of sick and injured children across North America. In Saskatchewan alone last year, $241,505 was raised across 43 locations. Dairy Queen locations will also be accepting donations on Miracle Treat Day. The funds raised will help provide access to urgent equipment needs and help critical treatment and health care services, pediatric medical equipment and family-centered care through Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Children’s Miracle Network raises funds for 170 children’s hospitals, 14 of which are in Canada. These hospitals, in turn, use the money where it’s needed the most. When a donation is given, it stays in the community, ensuring that every dollar is helping local kids. Established in 1983, Children’s Miracle Network raises funds to support critical research, education, purchase life-saving equipment, and ensure excellence in care, all in support of our mission to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.
