Three people with Weyburn roots are looking to give people a chance to share their stories of mental health illness and addictions.

Darren Neuberger, Geoff Brown and Ramona Iida are compiling stories from the Weyburn and Estevan area for a new book "Breaking The Silence: Our Journeys of Healing".

The stories will all be from residents in the Southeast, all of whom who have faced the challenges of suicide, mentall illness or addictions. This includes family members, those currently going through these issues or survivors.

The goal is to share ideas on how to cope with these issues and to encourage others not to give up.

Stories can be sent to Neuberger (hello@darrenneuberger.ca), Brown (feeskers@gmail.com), or Iida (takamona@sasktel.net). The deadline for stories is May 1, 2017 and they ask stories to be no longer than 1,000 words.

Neuberger, Iida and Colin Folk, who works with the project this book will be benefitting, stopped in to give more details, as you can see in the video below. They also shared their personal stories, as you can see in the later half of the video.
