Two men are facing charges after numerous thefts involving extension cords taken from parked vehicles.

The thefts occurred in various places around Weyburn.

Deputy Police Chief Brent VanDeSype said the thefts continued even after a police report came out about it last month.

“It was fairly continuous as we did receive a few more complaints of stolen extension cords.”

Weyburn Police received tips from residents and business owners.

“The two individuals were identified to us. One was located and the traffic stop was conducted. He was driving the vehicle; he was suspended at the time and so he faces a charge under the Traffic Safety Act for that infraction.”

The other man faces a charge of failing to comply with a condition of their release. Both men face charges of possessing stolen property, and trafficking stolen property.
