Didn't get away for the Canada Day long weekend? No problem, because there are plenty of things to do to celebrate Canada Day in Weyburn. Not only do Weyburn Fair Days kick-off with the 4-H Light Horse Show and community movie night, but the City of Weyburn is hosting a Canada Day celebration at the Weyburn Leisure Centre.

The festivities begin with a pancake breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m. The breakfast, provided by the Royal Canadian Legion, is $5 per person. After that the Legion Colour Guard will provide the traditional flag ceremony, which will be followed by the serving of Canada Day birthday cake.

"At 11:30 till 2:30 we'll have crafts and face painting, provided by the Signal Hill Arts Centre," shared Leisure Centre Manager Tina Clay. "The Disney Princesses will be making an appearance from 11:30 till 1:30 and then we have a barbecue from 11:30 till 1:30 that's put on by the City of Weyburn."

There will also be a magic show by Magician Richy Roy from 11:30 till 1:30. Free swimming will be provided by the City beginning at 9 a.m. and lasting until 11:30 a.m. There is no swimming permitted during the flag ceremony, however. The free swim will then resume at 1 p.m. and end at 5 p.m.

Of course, the day will cap off with fireworks at the exhibition grounds around 10:30 p.m.
