Weyburn residents will have an opportunity to explore the gardens at Heritage Village tomorrow with a Garden Viewing tea and social.

“It's really just a celebration of what our wonderful gardener Joan Honig does for us out at the village. She has planted basically everything you see out there,” said Tour Coordinator Drew Paquette.

She noted they like to have a special day just for Joan to give the public the chance to view what she has grown, from food gardens to coves of flowers and trees. In fact, Joan once planted a tree for each of her own five children along the main street of the village.

Similar to Heritage Village Days, entry for the event is by donation. Refreshments will also be served.

“We're kind of taking more of an approach of a garden view tea or garden view social, so we're going to be having some refreshments and a couple of little snacks throughout the day,” she shared.

Paquette said it's not only a celebration of Joan, but it’s also an opportunity to take-in and explore all the gardens in the late-summer paradisical array.

“You can wander through the gardens, and you can stop and sit on one of the porches of our beautiful houses, and just take it all in,” she suggested, adding. “I think it'll be good.”

The Garden Viewing will run from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 18th.
