The Notre Dame Hounds Midget AAA team overcame a boisterous home crowd for their opponents to pick up their second win at the Telus Cup Tuesday. The Hounds beat the host Sudbury Nickel Capital Wolves 4-0 to improve their record at the tournament to 2-0.

The scoresheet was once again dominated by players from the Weyburn area.

Leading the way was Cordel Larson, who scored his second of the tournament late in the first period. He went five-hole on Sudbury goaltender Alex Vendette to give the Hounds a 2-0 lead.

Midway through the second frame, Ethan Ernst would push the Hounds up to a 3-0 lead. He put a one-timer past Vendette just past the halfway mark. Before the second ended, Drew Englot would round out the scoring for the Hounds.

Englot picked up the puck in the left faceoff circle, spun, and fired it five-hole on Vendette to put Notre Dame up 4-0.

The Hounds continue the round-robin Wednesday. They take on the Cantonniers de Magog from Quebec at 1:30 p.m. Saskatchewan time.
