Getting ready. Teachers and students in the Holy Family Roman Catholic Separate School Division are almost ready for the new school year.

Teachers head back to work on Monday while students return to class on Thursday. There will be a few new looks within the School Division this year according to Director of Education, Shelley Rowein. "We have a number of changes and projects we'll be working on. Effective September 1st, Holy Family and St. Augustine will officially be amalgamated which means, the St. Augustine School in Wilcox will become part of our family of schools. The Board will have to hold a by election in the fall for the two trustees for the new subdivisions in that area."

Another change will see, new Assistant Director of Education Norm Casavant officially starting his role.

Rowein talks about a few other highlights to start the year include: Grade 5 students will stay at St. Dominic Savio School to make it a Pre K to Grade 5 school with St. Mikes in Weyburn being a Grade 6-9.

Rowein says phase two of the St. Mikes building and renovation project will be going to tender soon with hopes of a fall start.

As for what teachers and students can expect to experience when they head back, Rowein tells us.
