"Snow, snow, snow. Too much snow!" read a social media post today from Weyburn's Mayor Marcel Roy.

"If you don’t have to drive please avoid travel as it will take time to clear passageways. We will once again dig our way out of winter and hopefully find spring soon!"

This is the sentiment across social media from locals today, with more than 40 cm of snow measured downtown having fallen since yesterday morning.

The City of Weyburn's leisure facilities are closed this morning, and reopening will be looked at later today, and updates will be provided this afternoon.

Snow removal focus for April 20 remains on priority routes, secondary will begin once Public Works determines priority routes are fully complete. Downtown removal is anticipated for tomorrow as the snow is too damp for snow blowers (the equipment needed to clear downtown streets).

Recycling collection in Area 2 has been postponed April 20, Area 2 and 3 will be collected Friday. Garbage collection for Areas 1 and 2 will also happen on Friday.

The landfill remains closed today.

City Hall is open today, but a number of Weyburn organizations and businesses have closed their doors and are calling it a snow day.

The Prairie Sky Coop Food Store is currently open, but the parking lot is still being cleared and there will be no deliveries available today. The Coop Home Centre is closed today.
