Kindergarten and learning to navigate a new school can be a big adjustment for little learners.  Enrolling little learners into a preschool program prior to entering kindergarten can go a long way in helping children feel more confident, independent and resilient when the time comes to enter their first school. The Family Place offers two preschool classes, registration for ages three and four has now opened for the 2022/23 school year.

From helping to establish social-emotional skills to learning letters and numbers, The Family Place helps equip young learners for greater success in their school years.

“In Little Learners Four, they do stuff to get them ready for kindergarten like learning their numbers and letters and learning to print their name,” said Judy Lumb, Assistant Director for The Family Place. “Little Learners Three is more learning through play but they also do some of that stuff as well.”

Children must be either three or four by the end of December 31, 2022, to qualify for the programs. Space is limited as the program only takes 24 children per class, children are enrolled on a first-come, first-serve basis. The cost of the program is $80 per month, classes will commence sometime in mid-September and finish at the end of May. Little Learners Three classes run Mondays and Wednesdays from 1–3:15 pm and Little Learners Four classes run Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1-3:15 pm.
