The relay had only two teams in it's first year, but last year they had 35. This weekend the 10th annual event is ready to go, starting Friday night at River Park. Barb Hudson with the Relay for Life says, "it's coming along really good. We're getting really excited for our 10th Annual Relay for Life and we'd just like to invite everybody down to support are teams and survivors. The opening ceremonies and survivor lap start at 7:00 and activities, entertainment, and information is throughout the evening. And some local talent with the Comp choir, Haley Wiberg, Michael Froh, and some belly dancers. and then luminaries light the track at dusk when we remember and honour those who have experienced cancer."

Hudson would like to encourage all cancer survivors to pre-register for the first lap at the Cancer Office or while at the event on Friday night.

Relay for Life wraps up at 7:00am Saturday with a pancake breakfast.
