Summer is here, school is out, and the fun begins. Amanda Wallace, Leisure Servies Manager at the City of Weyburn, gives information on all the camps and activities lined up for the summer months.

“There are a multitude of summer events to look forward to. We have some program opportunities with the Mobile Play Park that the littles are able to go and participate in on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at various locations all over the city. It's good to know that we are not running on stat holidays, so no programs on July 1st and July 5th for the Mobile Play Park. We have the Young Fellow Paddling Pool up and running. That will be operational during stat holidays, so we will have hours running from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. July 1st and August 5th. We have some Spark Centre summer camps that are operating starting next week, and we have some Fun in the Sun camps running starting on the 8th.”

“We also have Heritage Village Days that are up and coming on August 9th and 10th.”

Camps do require registration and are already near full.

“The Fun in the Sun camp is almost all full, so if you're looking to register for that, you better do it quickly. The Mobile Play Park is a free program that we offer, so there's no charge, no registration needed for that. The Spark Summer Camp is an online registration; however, it is full. You may throw your name on the wait list if you're looking to get on the wait list, but there is no guarantee that you will be admitted into the camp due to our full numbers. The Young Fellow Paddling Pool is also admission free.”

Registration for events can be found on Weyburn.ca. Information about other events can be found there as well, alongside their social media pages.
