This weekend will be the final weekend of the season for two of Weyburn’s popular attractions. Heritage Village and Soo Line Historical Museum will both be closed for the year starting Sunday.

“August 26th (Saturday) will be our last days for tours for the summer season,” explained Ryan Dale, Leisure Services Manager with the City of Weyburn. “We would as the guests come in between 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. to get their last tours of the season in for those sites.”

There are options for virtual tours of the Soo Line Historical Museum that are available on the City of Weyburn website.

It had already been announced the City of Weyburn had closed the outdoor pool earlier this week due to mechanical issues, however, it was already scheduled to close after the weekend. Work is already underway to prepare the indoor pool at the Weyburn Leisure Centre for the fall and winter seasons, with the opening scheduled for September 11th.

The Young Fellows Paddling Pool at Don Mitchell Park will remain open for this weekend, and next weekend, with a scheduled closing date of September 4th. The spray park at Don Mitchell Park and the spray park at River Park will remain open until the second week in September, weather permitting.
