The second advance poll ahead of Wednesday’s by-election for Weyburn City Council will be today. The poll for the advance voting will open at the Credit Union Spark Centre at 1:00 p.m., and close at 5:00 p.m.

“You do not need to pre-register in any way,” Returning Officer Donette Richter explained. “Just come out to the polls and we will get you taken care of and get you a ballot, as long as you bring a picture ID or two pieces of ID as required by the Election Act.”

The other thing to bear in mind is eligibility for voting is for those who have resided in Weyburn for three months and Saskatchewan for six months. As well, you must be a Canadian citizen.

The by-election will be held on Wednesday, from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The candidates seeking the seat, which came open when long-time councillor Dick Michel stepped down, are Larry Heggs, Dana Pretzer, Trevor Tessier and Brandon Tichkowsky.
