There will be not one, but two showcase events held jointly by the SJHL and MJHL this coming hockey season. The announcement was made Monday afternoon.

The annual SJHL/MJHL Showcase will be making its return, scheduled for the end of January. This year the event will be played in Winnipeg and will once again feature 60 players from each league across three teams, one of players 18 and under, and two of players 20 and under. Each team will play two games at the showcase event, which is attended by scouts at all levels from across North America.

The second showcase event will be held in November and was described in the press release making the announcement as an elite identification camp for the upcoming World Junior A Challenge. No further details about the November showcase event were released, such as location or format.

“We look forward to continuing to build on the success of joint events with the MJHL,” shared SJHL Commissioner Kyle McIntyre. “We are very pleased to be able to provide these collaborative opportunities for our elite players.”
