The SJHL made a little noise on Canada Day, as they released their 2024-25 schedule.

The season will start on September 20th, with 10 of the league’s 12 teams, including the Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Red Wings, taking to the ice. The Red Wings will be opening their season in Yorkton against the Terriers. This will be the seventh time in the past 10 years the Red Wings have opened their season with a game against the Terriers.

The home opener for the Red Wings will then take place on September 22nd. The game will be a matinee match-up, with the puck dropping at 2:00 p.m. at Crescent Point Place.

The 56-game schedule will see the Red Wings playing the other three teams in the Viterra Division eight times, and the other teams in the league four times. There will not be a showcase in Warman this season, either, which means every team in the league will visit Weyburn at least twice, while Weyburn will play in every other rink at least twice.

The first northern road swing will be in mid-October, with stops in Nipawin and Flin Flon. In February, the Red Wings will close out their schedule against the teams from the Sherwood Division with five games in two trips that will be back to back.

The storied rivalry with the Estevan Bruins will resume on November 9th, when the Bruins come to Crescent Point Place. The Red Wings won’t be making any trips to Estevan until November 30th. Then, when the team comes back from the Christmas break with a game in Estevan on January 4th, the Red Wings will face the Bruins six times in the second half of the season.

This year the Red Wings will also be at home on Remembrance Day, with a game scheduled to start at 4:00 p.m. against the Melville Millionaires. The Red Wings will have one other afternoon game at home, with Estevan visiting on Family Day, February 17th.

The Christmas break will start after a road game in Yorkton on December 21st and will end with the game against Estevan on January 4th. The final two games of the regular season will be a home-and-home against the Estevan Bruins, with the first game played in Weyburn on March 14th, and the second game the following day in Estevan.
