Two Grade 12 students at Weyburn Comprehensive School were presented with awards yesterday.

Student Recruitment Officer from the University of Saskatchewan, Ally Chertez, presented the prestigious awards to Dalton Molnar and Gracyn Knipfel.

Molnar was awarded the University of Saskatchewan’s George and Marsha Ivany President's First and Best Scholarship. This award is valued at $40,000. Read his comments HERE.

Gracyn Knipfel was awarded the University of Saskatchewan Entrance Scholarship, valued at $24,000.

"We were very fortunate to have been able to invite their families to be here as well to be in on the surprise," shared Career Counselor Nicole Blackburn of WCS.

Dalton will be attending the University of Saskatchewan in the fall to begin his Commerce degree through the Edwards School of Business. Gracyn will be starting her degree in Biomedical sciences there in the fall. 

Another Comp student, Jamie Labbie, was awarded the Governor General's Award for 2021-2022. This award is given to the student who has attained the highest overall average of all grades 11 and 12 courses. Read more HERE.
