The two U13 lacrosse teams from Weyburn, the Weyburn Security Thrashers and the Young’s Equipment Thrashers, played their second-to-last regular season games Monday night, with the Weyburn Security team on the road in Regina, while the Young’s Equipment squad was in Moose Jaw.

The Young’s Equipment Thrashers were up against the Moose Jaw Black Mustangs. Moose Jaw would take an early lead, scoring a goal in the first and second periods, and then held on to beat the Thrashers 4-2. Weyburn’s goals came from Judd Vennard and Bentley Wilson.

The Weyburn Security Thrashers were taking on the QCMBL Vipers, a team that they had beaten in early May. The Thrashers would start with three goals in the first, and then built the momentum from there, going on to a 14-3 victory.

Julie Lebrecque led the way with five goals, all but cementing her spot as the top point-getter and goal-scorer for the season. She is sitting at 25 goals scored and 38 points with one game left in the campaign.

The other goals for Weyburn came from Simon Wawro, who had two, as well as Lincoln Lasko, Nash Missal, Feliz Wawro, Cruz Carter, Ryder Stepp, Bree Tuchscherer, and Paislee Besharah.

The two U13 squads close out the regular season on Wednesday when they play each other. Then, both teams will be taking part in the South Sask Lacrosse League playoff tournament that starts Friday here in Weyburn.
