The U18 AAA Richardson Pioneer Gold Wings opened up a two-game set against the Prince Albert Northern Bears at home Saturday evening. The game, which saw plenty of chances at both ends of the ice, would ultimately end up in a Prince Albert win, as the Bear outscored the Gold Wings 4-1.

Sophia Zuck opened the scoring with 3:45 to play in the first period, giving the visitors a 1-0 lead. The second period would see a flurry of activity from the Bears in a span of five minutes as they scored three goals to open up the lead to 4-0.

Claudia Lammers scored at the 2:24 mark, followed by a tally from Calla Kampen at the 5:17 mark, and Brooklin Fry scored at the 7:22 point of the middle frame.

Weyburn would reply just moments later when Paisley Arntsen found the back of the net with 10:36 to go in the second period. She was assisted on the goal by Rilynn Dobson and Julianne Girardin.

The two teams meet again Sunday afternoon. The puck drops at Crescent Point Place at 1:00 p.m.
