An update on the status of the pool at the Weyburn Leisure Centre was provided Monday night at Weyburn City Council.

The Director of Parks and Leisure Services, Andrew Crowe, thanked the community for their patience with the recent maintenance issues, stating that staff were just as frustrated, if not more so, with the number of times the doors have been closed due to issues that were beyond the control of staff.

“Unfortunately over the weekend, we experienced a pinhole on a section of six-inch black iron pipe which was replaced in 2014 when boiler system upgrades were completed,” Crowe stated. “This has caused us to shut down the heating system until repairs can be completed.”

It is hoped that the repairs will be completed, and everything back up and running, by the end of the week.
