You'll be off to a flying art with the upcoming Paint Night fundraiser for the Creelman rink on Friday, March 24th, at the Creelman Community Complex.

The Paint Night fundraiser will be in conjunction with rink wind-up, and will get started at 5:00 p.m. with pizza night and beverages, along with several games for people to take part in like shuffleboard.

The Paint Night fundraiser will get underway at 7:30 p.m.

Amber Smith, Board member on the Creelman Community Complex Board, shared that, "Our leader for the paint night is Diana Hume of Diana Hume Fine Art. She's one of our local artists and we're happy to have her leading us through the fun paint night."

Smith said that the painting they are going to create this year is a picture of an elevator with a sunset in the background.

She said that this year will be the second year in a row for paint night, with about 14 people having signed up last year. They're hoping to have a good turnout again this year, she said.

She explained that the fundraiser is going towards the general running of the Creelman Complex.

"It's harder and harder all the time to make ends meet, so we're trying to have some fun events throughout the winter to keep the lights on in the rink, and have some of our residents gather, meet and build community."

Smith said that the registration fee is $40 and covers all of the materials necessary for the paint night.

"Come and pick your spot, and Diana Hume will instruct everyone with the painting. It's for all ages and no prior experience is required."

Those interested in registering for the paint night should pre-register with Amber Smith by contacting her at 306-570-2626, or Dawn Ray at 306-539-6641
