Falon Brydon with Barefoot Gypsies is the lady you'll find with the horse-drawn carriage at River Park Sparkles.

She said her trick for helping keep her horse, Spitfire, from getting too nervous when they she is pulling the carriage, is that she trains her horses in town.

"There's cars going around, there's people, there's dogs [in town]," she shared. "I'll ride through town and we'll have the odd dog that'll run out of a backyard or something, just so that they get used to having dogs riding and kids running and wanting attention. And and then it makes them a little bit more safer for parades, and I use my horses for pony rides for special events on people looking for pony rides. I'm now getting bookings for wagon rides."

Brydon said she grew up working with horses for just such a purpose.

"My adopted grandparents used to do it, and we used to go around our small little town of Bredenbury, and just go night after night after night," she shared.

Brydon said she's got a younger horse she's hoping will eventually start pulling as well. And, she said she welcomes folks who see her riding to stop and say hi to her and her horse.

"There's people who see me in town, whether I have my horse and wagon, even walking around here while I'm doing my rides, if people see me, they can stop and ask us to pet the pony, or if they see me riding through town or whatever, I'm always willing to stop," she invited.

"They love carrots. They will never say no to a carrot."

She said anyone who's interested in doing pony rides or wagon rides, can find her on Facebook HERE.
