Weyburn’s Therapeutic Animal Park was recently able to put up a new play structure thanks to fundraising that took place over the past year.

Board President Jodi Larson said it’s an amazing addition to the park.

“It is farm themed, so it is a barn play structure and it's got a couple of slides with some other really cool features. It’s available for kids of all ages.”

She added the play structure was an idea for several years.

“The Executive Board and the Community volunteers just did a great job along with the local sponsors and donors,” said Larson. “We've had all sorts of sponsors and donors, everything from funds to help purchase the play structure, to time, equipment and labor to help get it installed.”

Moving forward, the park still needs help with donations, and is accepting money over email at wtapark@gmail.com. They are also in need of square hay bales, and park-goers can bring vegetables for the animals.

A unique fundraiser is currently taking place for the animal park, and more information can be found here.

Many animals can be seen at the park, such as alpacas, rabbits, goats, and a miniature pony. It will soon have sheep as well.

The park, which is located at 9 Souris Valley Road, is free to attend and is open at all hours.
