Weyburn Red Wing goaltender Carter Phair announced his retirement via social media this afternoon.
In a post on Instagram, the 19-year-old Carnduff native said "It sucks having to say goodbye when it's not what you want to do but it's time to focus on getting healthy."
Phair was injured in a game against the Kindersley Klippers on November 9th, and has not returned to the ice since.
In 49 games with the Red Wings over the past 3 seasons, Phair earned 21 wins, and two shutouts. He posted a career GAA of 2.44, and a save percentage of .924.
