The provincial government announced that $1.7 million in charitable gaming grants were paid out in the fourth quarter of the 2023-24 fiscal year to 1200 organizations across the province. This included just over $49,000 for organizations in the Weyburn area.  

While the details of which organizations received grants were not released, the totals for individual communities were, and there were 19 in the region. Weyburn itself is the largest recipient, with $20,967.99 coming back to the community organizations. Organizations in Coronach are also receiving a large total, at $9,142.70.

The charitable gaming grants are paid out once a quarter to groups and organizations in good standing that conduct licensed charitable gaming activities. This includes events such as bingos, raffles, poker nights, casino nights, and 50/50 draws. Eligible organizations get up to 25 percent of the net revenue raised by each event.
