Applications are now open for the Weyburn Salvation Army's Christmas Assistance and Adopt-A-Family programs.
Families in need can apply for the Adopt-A-Family program, and provide a list of things they want for Christmas.
"An individual, business, or service group would offer to adopt a family," Community Ministries Worker, Shannon Fodchuk said. "We would match people up, and they would purchase everything and then drop it back off to us to hand out to the family."
Single people and couples who don't have children can apply for the Christmas hamper assistance program, where the salvation Army provides a Christmas hamper.
Fodcuk said the programs were successful last year.
"Last year we helped 82 families for Adopt-A-Family, so it is busy and we are always looking for people to volunteer to adopt a family," she said. "For singles and couples, we helped 120."
Anyone interested can call the Family Services Office at 306-842-2280. Applications close on November 25th.
