Summer holidays are fast approaching, and Life Centre Church is gearing up for a celebration. This year, for the first time, the church will host the 'School's Out for Summer Party.'

With the first day of summer holidays landing on a weekday, the church thought it would be nice to help families out by hosting a fun-filled day complete with a BBQ, bouncy castles, and treats.

Lead Pastor, Mat Erickson shares more, “I know some people will be working on that Thursday. Even teachers still have one more day. So, it's just the kids who are out. So hey, let's start it off with something really fun for the kids to celebrate.”

Pastor Erickson extends a warm welcome to all ages and explains the church’s goal is to give back to the community, “We bought this building on 17th Street. about five years ago and they always wanted to do stuff for the community, and then, of course, 2020 happened and it kind of put a stop to any plans for a few years. So, it's been on the top of the list to put something on. So, we're hoping this will kind of build some momentum and lots of people don't even know where we are. We are in a very residential part of the city. There's lots of houses and even I live only a few blocks away. So, I’m hoping to invite all my neighbors and just have some fun.”

In addition to a BBQ and bouncy castles, kids can look forward to cotton candy, snow cones, pop, and games—all completely free! The event will start at 11 a.m. and continue until 6 p.m.on Thursday, June 27th. After sundown, around 9:30 p.m., families can enjoy an outdoor screening of the first two episodes of season four of 'The Chosen.'

This is the first annual 'School's Out for Summer Pary', Pastor Erickson shared that the goal is to make this an annual celebration and while the event is free to attend, they will be accepting non-perishable food items to be donated to the Weyburn Food Bank. Life Centre Church is located at 96, 17th Street.
